Visit Asia -2022 Campaign’ initiated by ABTO

Asia plays a central role in global tourism, both as a destination region and an outbound market. In 2018, Asia recorded 7% growth in international tourist arrivals to reach a total of 348 million , one fourth of the world’s total. Asia’s share in total global arrivals has increased from 16% in the year 2000 to 25% in 2018.

Rapid economic growth in the region, with over half the world’s population, combined with increasing air connectivity, world class infrastructure development, travel facilitation and promotion have boosted international travel within Asia , as well as to and from other world regions.

Further, with Asia emerging as a relatively better health-safe region during Covid pandemic , compared to many other parts of the world, the region is poised for a higher growth in travel and tourism in times to come.

‘Visit Asia -2022 Campaign’ initiated by ABTO, at this juncture is a welcome step.The campaign will not only accelerate the growth of this sector in this region but will also help India, being one of the preferred destinations of the region, to showcase its Incredible tourism offerings to the region and to the world, in a campaign mode.
